The Rock and Roll of Fame will honor the Everly Brothers with a tribute concert this fall.
The Rock Hall announced Thursday that surviving member Don Everly will appear at the Oct. 25 event at PlayhouseSquare’s State Theatre in Cleveland.
Phil Everly died from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease earlier this year. His older brother said in a statement that he wishes “Phil were here to share this honor.” Don Everly also thanked the Rock Hall and the duo’s fans “for keeping the Everly Brothers alive.”

Meeting Buddy Holly as recalled by the rock-n-roll legend “Phil Everly” of the “Everly Brothers”.

Brothers Phil and Don Everly make up the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted music duo, The Everly Brothers. Known for their beautiful vocal harmonies, their music has influenced the writing style for many musical legends including The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, The Rolling Stones and many others. The Beatles even referred to themselves at one point as “The English Everly Brothers.”

They have been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004 as well.  Rolling Stone Magazine ranked the Everly Brothers No. 33 of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

Phil’s affinity for creation goes beyond music as well. He invented & patented his idea for the no-slip star grip for Everly Star Picks, and eventually ventured off to start Everly Music Company, which would later become the parent company of Cleartone Strings.
