Johnny V, born in Valparaiso, Chile on 1982, has played since 16 years old. As co-founder of the metal band Break.Down in 2006, he has had the opportunity to work with many guitarists including Kiko Loureiro, with whom he shared the stage with in 2008 on his Chilean tour. During this period he was already working on the first demo “My last Fix” with which they took to the stage for the “Bandit Unsigned Challenge” qualifying into the finalists out of more than 300 bands in Sweden. On 2009 he went to the studio with Pablo Stipicic (producer and Ibanez endorser) and Mike Wead (Mercyful Fate and King Diamond) to record the LP “Made of Scars.” In March 2009 Break.Down played “The Metal Fest” alongside Testament, Volbeat, Anthrax, Fear Factory and other notable acts, and finished the year as the opening act for Arch Enemy’s tour.
In September 2013 he performed with Jeff Loomis of Nevermore in the 2013 Schecter Guitar Fest and went on to become a Schecter endorsed guitarist himself.
Currently Johnny is working on Break.Down’s new full length album set to be released later in 2015, along with a solo EP to be released August 2015.
