Out From Under the Cork Tree emerged Chicago based pop punk legends Fall Out Boy. The band formed in 2001 and consists of vocalist/guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist, Joe Trohman, and drummer, Andy Hurley.

Wentz and Trohman were part of the underground hardcore punk rock scene near Chicago, and started Fall Out Boy as a pop punk side project. This turned out to be a pretty good move for them as they went on to record Take This to Your Grave in 2003 to lots of commercial success. The band swung for the fences on their next full-length album From Under the Cork Tree in 2005, and hit grand slam success as both singles “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down” and “Dance, Dance” each went double platinum, further launching the band into international stardom. In the following year, they received so much attention, the Grammy Awards noticed as they received a nomination for Best New Artist in 2006.

Fall Out Boy today continues their legacy as titans of the pop punk world, releasing yet another single in late 2014, “Centuries!” which received triple platinum success. The single preceded their recent 2015 full length Island Records release “American Beauty/American Psycho.”  Where many pop punk bands falter, Fall Out Boy continues to stand strong as it seems there is no end in sight for these young stars.
