We wanted to test guitar players to see if they could tell which guitar has Cleartone coated strings compared to traditional (un-coated) strings. So we setup a test with two identical guitars: one has Cleartone coated strings and the other has regular un-coated strings both of the same gauge. Then we asked a variety of guitar players to play both guitars and guess which guitar has the coated strings. In nearly every case the guitar player couldn’t tell the difference and had to simply guess. Yes, sometimes they guess right, because there’s a 50/50 chance of guessing right…but the fact remains, they couldn’t tell the difference of the Cleartone coated guitar strings compared to the un-coated guitar strings so in our book that still counts as a win for Cleartone.
