Megadeth Frontman and Cleartone artist, Dave Mustaine, is awarded this year’s Metal Hammer Golden God award. The award ceremony is set to take place on June 15 at IndigO2 in London.
Megadeth was formed in 1983 by Dave Mustaine and has since sold more than 38 million albums worldwide. In this time, they have become an iconic influence on metal music. Megadeth is also celebrating the 30th anniversary of their album Killing Is My Business…And Business Is Good! which featured iconic tracks such as “Last Rites/Loved to Deth”, “Rattlehead”, and “Mechanix.”As of now, Megadeth is in the process of recording a new studio album. It is expected to be released in late 2015 or early 2016.
“I am truly humbled to receive this award,” Mustaine says in a statement to Metal Hammer, “and to be recognized by your peers for your accomplishments, is almost as gratifying as not being recognized by the police for your accomplices.”
In 2013, Megadeth released the hit album Super Collider. This album featured tracks such as “Super Collider” and “Built for War.”
Dave Mustaine is one of the many artists that use Cleartone strings. Cleartone strings were used for the entire recording of “Super Collider.”
