Epiphone Masterbilt Collection: 1930s Guitars for the Modern Musician

Who says you can’t take an old vintage guitar on tour? If you aspire to own a vintage guitar, but want the premium reliability of a new guitar, the Epiphone Masterbilt Collection may hands-down be your best bet. Entirely inspired by the original Masterbilt Epiphones of the 1930s, the Masterbilt series brings to life the Epiphone of old times, when they were their own separate company. Epiphone’s promise from the original Masterbilt era embodies the tradition they aim to represent, and reads: “The possessor of an Epiphone instrument has the assurance that every possible precaution has been taken to build instruments for lifetime performance and pleasure.” Well, promises are meant to be kept and with the Epiphone Masterbilt collection, this is no exception.

Unbeknownst to many, Epiphone originally was its own standalone company, and under the leadership of Epi Stathopoulo, grew to become one of Gibson’s leading rivals. Known for making exceptionally unique guitars, Epiphone has always stood for quality, which goes to show why they’re celebrated as a Gibson affiliated brand today. Due to this, the original Epiphone vintage guitars of that era are now worth a small fortune, and are pretty difficult to find. Being that Epiphone is currently owned by Gibson, many of their instruments fit into their overall scope of design; but Epiphone has always managed to stay true to their proud beginnings, and this is exactly where the Masterbilt Collection comes in.

Below you can find the full Epiphone Masterbilt Collection, as published on the Epiphone website.
