So, what’s new with Atreyu? Quite a bit actually as Atreyu recently came back from a long hiatus and released a new full length album just last month, amid reviews of “A comeback that sticks out” and “Absolutely amazing!!” featured on iTunes. Long Live was officially released to the public in September 2015, featuring a familiar feel with an all new sound. After hiatus, many bands evolve to make different sounding albums than their previous successes such as their other Orange County counterpart in the scene Thrice, but Atreyu took a completely different approach. Before we get into that, The Curse released in 2002 and has been their most successful album to date, selling just shy of gold at nearly 450,000 copies. While they’ve redefined themselves as veterans in the metal/hardcore scene, their new album aims to capture that heavy beatdown style they became famous for from their previous successes. The approach is one that encapsulates their wisdom they’ve gained over the years along with new insight they bring to the table after being apart from the band for a couple of years.
Taking a breather has its advantages in many aspects of life, including music it seems as it’s been 6 years since their last release. It turns out Long Live has as much energy and heart as ever, proving Atreyu shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Fans of their older albums will be thoroughly impressed.
They’ll be on tour throughout the end of 2015 with Falling In Reverse. Check out the tour dates below and their official music video for “Long Live” off of their new album.
